Namaste and season's greeting from Himalayan Xpressions Egg Harbor, WI.
Dear friends and visitors of Himalayan Xpressions Egg Harbor, we Kim & Prem, the proud owner of the Himalayan shop would like to welcome all of you once again for this season of 2009. We are excited and equally thrilled to see you this year as well. We were busy redesigning our shop therefore it took a while to reopen but it is now completely done and ready for the season. 
We have varieties of new items this year like our biggest selection is hand felted purses from Nepal. They are colorful, elegant and trendy. WE directly work with the felters we have seen their work in Kathmandu based workshop. It is not as easy as we all think, when comes to felting. I found numbers of things could go wrong such as when it is knitted first to make a purse later it may shrink more than one expected or think out in one area then the other making hard to create a piece, therefore messing up the entire work. So, these felters work really hard to create what they create. I must appreciate because I am not a felter. 
More shipment is on the way to the shop as well from Nepal. Currently our shop ours are Mon thru Sat 10-5 & Sun 10-4 pm for now until further notice.
Also in the news is that we have a new neighbor known as Lavender Spa. The owner of the Spa is Marise and the spa brings sense of holistic to the whole massage system. Check out http://lavenderspaeggharbor.com
Also right next to me is going to be a new cafe, which is part of the Greens N' Grains. The purple building in Egg Harbor will be the destination for all of you, if you want something different than anything around.

July 4th Weekend @ Himalayan Xpressions

This July 4th weekend Himalayan Xpressions @ Egg Harbor will be organizing various functions to mark Dalai Lama's 73rd Birthday.
Thursday night Drumming will take place at Get Away Car Juice Bar right next to Himalayan Xpressions.
Friday Himalayan Xpressions LLC will participate in Egg Harbor, Parade for Tibet displaying banner "SAVE TIBET".
On Saturday the 5th a video named "TIBET Cry of the Snow Lion" 
On Sunday the 6th, Himalayan Xpressions will be celebrating 73rd birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama all day @ Himalayan Sacred Space with the movie
10 Questions for the Dalai Lama.
Please visit and celebrate Dalai Lama's Birthday with us at least on Sunday.

Nepal is full of wonders gifted by so many wonderful things. To add to that, Nepal also has so many talented musicians, who tirelessly create and recreate music from traditional instruments of Nepal. Such musicians are rare to find these days anywhere in the world. 
Kutumba, a Nepali folk instrumental band comes into such category. Their music has won millions of Nepali's and Diaspora's heart. I have been fan of Kutumba (2004) since their first album called Kutumba which almost means relationship but can go further than that. These six member band plays, Sarangi (Traditional Nepali violin like), Madal (Nepali drum), Bamboo flute, Tungna (Mountain Tibetan Guitar), Tabla (Nepali Classical drum), Jhyamta (symbols) and more with different tracks as it unfolds. Its a complete music. When I was in Nepal, I was so close to seeing them in concert but again, there are things in life we cannot do, get or see when we want.
We must accept it and move on. That is what I did however, I came with their third album called Naulo Bihani, which means new kind of morning. 
Before Naulo Bihani, they came up with another album called Folk Roots (2005), The album consist of total 10 tracks. All of them are just fantastic to jam with or just to listen to Nepali tune. Dear Friends,
Kim & I have decided to stay in Egg Harbor once again. Having to move out from our previous location was a little difficult but time is a healer and we found a perfect location right in Egg Harbor by Lucia Luxury Day Spa & Greens N' Grains. Now we are officially opening for the season of 2008 beginning May 1st. @ 7821 Hwy 42. Egg Harbor, WI 54209. Our name is still the same as before, which is Himalayan Xpressions (also on the web http://himalayanxpressions.com). Also right next to us is a very friendly and new place called The Gataway Car Juice Bar (www.getawaycarjuicebar.com). 
This year we have redesigned our look and appearance compare to last time. Space and location does it all. First of all we are in a better location and second of all the shop is very spacious. Even we are surprised by the out come of the shop setting and display. On top of that this winter we spent significant amount of time in Nepal researching, educating the children of my village & working with our craftsmen. This travel experience not only gave us so much fun & joy but also a greater amount of wisdom to bring back to our shop. This year we have so many varieties of new merchandises like Tibetan guitars (Dhamngen). Greater selections of Tibetan Singing bowls. We also have Nepali Drums called Madal. Our main focus is on Spirituality therefore, we carry products, which are suitable for your spiritual surroundings. We also introduced some books this year on Buddhism, Yoga and bit more. 
Also our main focus is to educate our visitors about Nepal handicrafts and Himalayan ideas. As world is getting smaller it is very important for us as well as next generation to know about different cultures and people. Therefore, we feel we are becoming one channel towards that direction.
Over the years many of our distinguished guests, who come to our shop have always enjoyed our presence and vice versa. We are always eager to learn and share our stories and compassion news.
Please feel free to stop by while you are up in Door County. We are very sure, if you like different things, if you like Yoga, if you like spirituality, you will love our shop.
